Themes can define multiple layout files supporting post display.
It's also just as easy to display categories and tags with varied layouts.
Default layouts for can be specified in the plugin settings and a post will naturally inherit the layout from its parent category (or tag, if the post has no category).
Posts can, of course, override the inheritance and have whichever layout you choose.
You may find this feature particularly useful if you have a large site and would like news items to take a different appearance to blog posts.
Layout differences can be as subtle or as extreme as required.
